Columbia Lioness Quantitative, a pre-professional finance club at Columbia, was founded to address a glaring imbalance in the world of quantitative finance and financial engineering—a field where women make up less than 20% of professionals and an even smaller percentage in leadership roles. Recognizing this disparity, our founders Anna Zueva, Sophia Moore, and Alexandra Delgado envisioned a community where women could gain hands-on experience, develop leadership skills, and form lasting connections in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

First General Body Meeting
Columbia Lioness Quantitative (CLQ) kicked off the semester with our first General Body Meeting! Our Co-Presidents , Anna Zueva and Sophia Moore, gave an overview of various careers in quantitative finance and related fields, helping members explore the diverse pathways in data-driven finance.

Making Connections
Plans go into action! We host our first ever partnered event with the Columbia Center for Career Education, focusing on resume improvement. At this time, the full 12-person executive board is also established to set our ambitions into action (see e-board lunch on the top left). First Speaker Event
March starts off strong with some of our first ever speaker events. Our first guests were Eugene Smith, Amy Yang, and Hanting Chi from Alliance Bernstein, educating attendees about Quant careers in Equities, Fixed Income, and Multi-Asset and Hedge Fund Solutions.
Next, we had the CLQ takeover of Women in Trading at Flow Traders.
